Makers Wellness Day brings together marketing leaders in vital debate on well-being at work

São Paulo, April 29, 2024 - Last Saturday at Ibirapuera Park marked a special and atypical occasion for the Brazilian corporate market. Wellness Day, organized by Makers, the most relevant community of CMOs in Brazil, brought together 90 marketing leaders, demonstrating a strong dedication to the little-discussed topic of mental health at work.

This remarkable event was attended by these professionals on a day considered atypical for corporate meetings, highlighting the urgency and relevance of the topic chosen. Faced with alarming statistics that show that 81% of workers face some form of burnout, according to the MIT Sloan Management Review, it is essential to offer spaces for discussion and learning about well-being.

Experts such as Dr. Luiz Riani, a doctor and one of the area's leading specialists in sports and behavioral medicine, and Renata Rivetti, a specialist in corporate happiness, led talks that provoked deep reflection. The highlight of the day was an outdoor sound healing yoga class on the park's lawn, providing an experience of relaxation and connection.

Thiego Goularte, founder of Makers, commented on the impact of the event: "Bringing together so many influential leaders on a Saturday to discuss mental health in the workplace not only shows the strength and unity of our community, but also underlines the critical importance of this issue in today's corporate world. We are committed to shedding light on this issue. "

Participants shared their experiences and insights, emphasizing how the event served as a catalyst for significant changes in working practices.

Marcelo Bronze, CMO at Danone, emphasized the importance of the agenda: "For me, it's essential to keep an agenda that I preserve for both myself and my team. I believe that unhappy people are unproductive people. We're there to deliver results, of course, but it's essential that people are happy and well. What's more, being here, meeting colleagues on a Saturday - an unusual but highly necessary day - allows us to disconnect a little from the intense work routine. Meeting people who are experiencing similar situations, in the same role and with similar challenges, is crucial for us. This kind of meeting enriches our work and our personal perspective."

For Claudia Vilhena, CMO of the Carrefour Group, it was a very rich experience: "Taking part in the event today was transformative. We are part of a vital community for sharing experiences, usually focused on work. Today, however, the focus was on mental health, an essential topic for us as leaders and human beings. We reflected on our actions and learned about the importance of being conscious and intentional in order to transform our lives and our organizations. It was incredible to understand the science behind well-being and how it impacts our physical health and happiness at work. I leave here invigorated and grateful.

Luciana Iodice, CMO of Privalia, talks about the role of leadership: "For us, who are constantly swallowed up by the day-to-day, it is crucial to stop and discuss mental health. We have a huge responsibility as C-Levels and leaders, and it's vital that we take the time to reflect on how we can improve the well-being of both ourselves and our employees. Holding the event on Saturday was the right choice, highlighting the importance of breaking the weekly routine and promoting a deep connection with well-being in Ibirapuera Park. This experience reinforces the importance of taking care of ourselves and passing that care on to our teams."

Wellness Day highlighted Makers' ability to lead vital discussions and promote a healthier and more conscious corporate environment. The choice of venue, Ibirapuera Park, a haven of peace and connection with nature within a metropolis like São Paulo, perfectly complemented the theme, offering a peaceful and inspiring environment.
